Repeated short-term interventions have masked deeper systemic weaknesses, preventing meaningful long-term reform. Operational inefficiencies and financial imbalances have further intensified the instability across the sector. Without a strategic restructuring effort, Ecuador’s energy system faces growing risks of disruption and long-term vulnerability.
